Allan R. May, an organized crime expert and author, will address a November 14 Youngstown Press Club luncheon. May’s topic will be: “Musings on the Mob and the Mahoning Valley.” The event will begin at noon at the Tyler History Center.
May is the author of “Crimetown USA: The History of the Mahoning Valley Mafia.” Another of his books, “Welcome to the Jungle Inn,” is a history of organized crime in Warren and Trumbull County, which features stories about the Jungle Inn gambling den. May has also written books about Cleveland-area organized crime.
Tickets are required for the luncheon, and the registration deadline is Nov. 6. The cost is $20 for press club members and $25 for non-members. To register, visit youngstownpressclub.com.
